A Natural Remedy for Chronic Inflammation

Natural remedy for chronic inflammation

Recently I have been seeing a number of cases of little boys with various developmental delays. Only one is toilet-trained, and they range in age from 2 years to 5 years. One common thread seems to be that they do well with the anti-inflammatory compound, turmeric, which I have found to be a natural remedy for chronic inflammation.

Inflammation is what happens when there is injury, and this is the body’s way of starting the healing process. For example, if you get a splinter, your body sends white blood cells (which turns into what we commonly refer to as pus), and the area gets swollen and red. Then, the body tries to expel the splinter and the body heals.

What I am seeing in these boys is a state of chronic inflammation, but in the brain. This inflammation can be from many sources that for you or me would not be a problem, but for these boys, with their decreased ability to detoxify things in their environment, there is an ongoing inflammatory problem. Substances that I see problematic for these boys include:

These substances produce a state of chronic inflammation in the brain, and that can cause the child to scream, bang his head, or be irritable or hyperactive.

I have started using a concentrated form of turmeric that seems to help these kids behave better, likely because it is decreasing the inflammation.

Scientific studies show that turmeric has an affinity for the nervous system.  I highly recommend this miracle herb to ease the discomfort of inflammation.
